RCSD's new bus pass plan

Rochester, N.Y.-- The fighting at the Liberty Pole bus terminal downtown is causing drastic changes for how city school students get to and from school.

Superintendent Bolgen Vargas announced a new plan for student bus transportation, because some of those fighting were city school students transferring buses downtown, or detouring on their route.

These new changes include a new bus pass system, in which students with express passes can only use the passes on their assigned bus routes in the morning and afternoon to get to and from school.

Students on routes that require them to transfer buses downtown will be given a timed connection pass that requires them to catch the next bus, instead of giving them the choice to stick around downtown.

These changes start this Friday, for students in grades 7 through 12.
