FDA approves new B&L contacts

Rochester, N.Y.  -- Bausch and Lomb received approval Thursday from the Food and Drug Administration for new monthly contact lenses.

The silicone hydrogel contact lenses made with MoistureSeal Technology will be made in Rochester.

New parent company Valeant says its the first new innovation in this type of disposable lens technology in seven years.

The new contacts are supposed to provide more comfort and better vision, and are expected to help boost Bausch and Lombs bottom line.
