Batavia police investigate armed robbery at hotel

Batavia, N.Y. Police are investigating a possible link between an armed robbery Sunday and several other similar incidents.

Batavia police said a man with a shotgun walked into the Days Inn on Oak Street around 2:30 a.m., pointed the gun at the clerk who was not hurt and stole an unknown amount of money.

The suspect is about 5-foot-7 and 200 pounds and wore a dark blue hoodie with a bandana over his face.

Police said the suspect fits a similar description to other recent armed robberies in the area, although handguns were used in those.

Police said anyone with information is asked to call the Batavia Police Department.
