Wrong way drivers linked to city shooting

Rochester, N.Y. - Police heard shots and saw a car driving the wrong Way on Campbell Street about the same time Thursday night-around 10:30.

When police stopped the wrong way vehicle the three people in the car tried to run but were caught and detained for questioning.

About the same time, shots were reported to 911 and officers found a 38-year-old victim at 356 Campbell Street who was shot in the upper body. He was taken to Strong Hospital and is in stable condition, according to the Rochester Police Department.

The subjects were allegedly arguing when the victim was shot with a handgun. They were taken to the Public Safety Building for follow up.

Criminal charges are pending completion of the investigation.
