Karl Karlsen pleads guilty to 2nd-degree murder

Romulus, N.Y. - Karl Karlsen, the man accused of killing his son to collect a $700,000 insurance policy, pleaded guilty in Seneca County Court Tuesday.

Karlsen pleaded guilty to a second-degree murder charge with his attorney before Seneca County Court Judge Dennis Bender.

His son, 23 year old Levi Karlsen, was killed in 2008 when the truck he was working under fell on him.

Authorities have also begun taking a new look into the 1991 death of Karlsen's former wife, Christina Karlsen.

Karlsen is now scheduled to be sentenced December 16 in Seneca County Court.

More information will be given at a news conference scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
