Farmington, N.Y. -  One man was seriously injured and another charged with several crimes after a serious crash in Ontario County.

It happened on Loomis Road in Farmington around 6:30 last night.

Sheriff's deputies say William Ribble of Horseheads drove his jeep off the road and sheered a utility pole in half, badly injuring his passenger, Alan Russell Jr., of Massena.

Russell had severe head injuries and is in guarded condition at Strong Hospital.

Police say Ribble was driving with a suspended license and had illegal prescription drugs in the jeep at the time of the crash.
