Arrest made in shooting death of 15-year-old

Rochester, N.Y. - A 22-year-old Rochester man was arrested and charged in the shooting death of a teenager.

Rochester Police said Taiquan Elmore killed 15-year-old Tysean Williams on Adams Street Wednesday night. Elmore was charges with second degree murder.

While one arrest had been made, police said the investigation is ongoing. According to witnesses, there were two men there that night.

They killed my baby, Pearl Williams said, they came into my home and my baby Tysean came to help to rescue me and they killed him. Pearl, the teenagers grandma said Tysean died protecting her from two men.

Police said the teen, an honor roll student at Wheatland-Chili High School, was not the intended target. The Williams family thinks the gunman was after the teens 21-year-old uncle, who also lives at the home on Adams Street.

Pearl said, They did wrong, they really did wrong and I want them to be punished.

According to the eyewitness, two men, one in a mask, tried to force their way into her home. Pearl said she tried to push the door closed but couldnt. She said the masked man shoved his arm through the door and pointed a gun at her and Pearl cried out for help. 

My grandson ran out of his room and pushed him so hard, I didn't know he had that much strength, Pearl said, he's not a big boy.

Pearl said the teenager pushed the gunman back but when he turned around to check see if she was okay, the masked man opened fire. Pearl said, He pushed the door back open and bang, bang, bang.

His back to the door, Pearl said her grandson was shot several times. My baby was laying there and he said oh God, oh God, help me. God I need you. He said oh God it hurts so bad, oh God please help me.

The 15-year-old later died at Strong Hospital.

I don't have the hostility in my heart, Pearl said, I don't want to hate them. I don't hate them. Pearl said she will pray Elmore but while she will try to forgive him, shell never forget her grandsons painful, untimely death.
