AAA's advice for Thanksgiving travel

Rochester, N.Y. - The worst of the snow may have passed, but AAA is still telling drivers to plan ahead if traveling for Thanksgiving.

Representatives from local offices said that they were swamped with calls Wednesday from travelers who had left town.

They said there was a steady flow of drivers stopping in to pick up Trip-Tiks. They also told drivers to take items like shovels, water, food, or blankets on the road with them, in case they encounter problems.

More than 43 million Americans are traveling for Thanksgiving this year, primarily by car.
