Guilty plea reached in LeRoy rape case

LeRoy, N.Y. - Charles Johnson, who was accused of raping a woman at knifepoint in her home in May, has pleaded guilty to rape in the first degree Tuesday.

Johnson has been defending himself, which left open the possibility that he would have had the opportunity to question the victim.

The victim signed off on the plea bargain, and is relieved to not have to face the man who raped her, Genesee County District Attorneys office said.

Johnson will be sentenced up to 18 years in prison on December 24.
