CrossFit continues fight against cancer

Brighton, N.Y. -  Breast Cancer Awareness Month is now behind us, but the fight against the disease continued Sunday.

The National Pink Bra Tour came to town, teaming with Flower City CrossFit for an event which combined running and weightlifting to raise money for breast cancer detection services.

The event raised more than $40,000, surpassing the goal of $30,000.

Jeff Rice, owner of Flower City CrossFit, said that will fund more than 500 mammograms.

One in eight women will be affected by breast cancer at some point in time, he said. A lot of those people can't afford the mammograms for early detection. It's all about early detection and helping people get the care they need.
