Chaos near neighborhood lounge

Rochester, N.Y. - Witnesses said the part of downtown around St. Paul Street has seen a number of violent incidents in the last year.

The shooting happened just after 2 o'clock Thursday morning outside a club on St. Paul Street near Andrews Street.

Four people were shot and another was hit by a car, though none of those were fatal.

Neighbors described it as a chaotic scene.

They blame the "Plush Lounge" nightclub for attracting violent crimes. The club disagrees.

Eliminating the places where people go to have fun and come and see their family members--or just party and have a good time--isn't going to change the problem," said Christopher Brown, in charge of security for the loungs.

I love Rochester, said Chris Woodworth who lives in the neighborhood. I pump Rochester all the time and promote it any chance I can, but when you see some of this stuff continually go on, you know its getting a reputation of not a safe to be."

No arrests have been made.

Police continue to investigate.
