Snow keeps sledders happy, shovelers frustrated

Rochester, N.Y. - Great snow for sledders, but terrible snow if you were stuck shoveling the driveway.

That seemed to be the consensus Wednesday morning.

A family from Philadelphia got to appreciate the local "slopes." Murray Peet, a Rochester native, returned to Cobbs Hill to give his three boys a taste of his old stomping grounds as a youngster.

"It's great seeing them because this is where I had so many memories," said Peet. "Seeing them here is kind of neat. Makes me young again."

Though sledders had little if any complaints, those at work had one recommendation for Wednesday's accumulation: don't use a shovel.

"Good snowblower snow," said Michael Fittos, a custodian at Martin B. Andersen School #1 in Rochester. "Not good for shoveling. (You need) something that can move this wet, heavy snow."
