Orleans Co. crash knocks out power for thousands

Murray, N.Y. - Roughly 2,000 National Grid customers have no power Friday morning after a crash in the Orleans County town of Murray.

The Orleans County Sheriff's Office said around 8:00 a.m., a man driving a tractor trailer lost control of the rig while exiting Route 31 onto Fancher Rd.

The tractor trailer hit several parked cars before shearing off a National Grid utility pole.

The driver, Richard Breslawski, 23, of Hamlin, was not injured. No one else was injured.

Deputies cited unsafe speed as a probable factor in the crash.
