Teacher arrested for being drunk at school

Ontario Center, NY -- The Wayne County Sheriff's Office arrested a teacher Thursday morning for allegedly being drunk at school.

Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to Wayne Central High School, after getting a call from the school district reporting an employee who came to work intoxicated. When they arrived, deputies say they found that 39-year-old April Roods of Webster had driven to work drunk.

Our news partners at the Times of Wayne County report that Roods taught through part of her first period class. When she was arrested, Roods' blood alcohol level was 0.13, above the legal limit of 0.08.

Roods will be appear in Town of Ontario Court.
