Sobriety checkpoints over Thanksgiving

N.Y. State -With many travelers headed to the highways for Thanksgiving, police plan to step up sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols.

They hope to deter drunk driving.

DMV figures show that there were more than 8,600 alcohol-related crashes last year, accounting for nearly one-third of fatalities on New York roadways.
