Food stamp cuts begin Friday, Nov. 1

U.S. - Starting Friday, more than 47 million Americans who rely on food stamps will have to cut back.

Congress approved a five billion dollar cut to the program.

That means the average family of four will get $36 less each month.

Churches and charities in several states are worried they won't be able to help make up the difference.

Soup kitchens and food cupboards are anticipating an increase in visitors because of the cuts.
