Man hears daughter's voice first time

St. Louis -- A Missouri man whos been deaf for more than 50 years finally got to hear his daughters voice for the first time last weekend.

Ken Stehle recently had a special hearing aid implanted before his daughter Ashleys winter concert.

Ashleys school kept her out of the program so it would be a surprise for Ken. She ended up wearing a special microphone for her performance, and said everything went exactly as planned.

The two embraced after Ashley finished her solo.

He was just closing his eyes and listening to my voice, Ashley said.

Its amazing, Ken said. I had goosebumps all over me. Im very proud of my daughter.
