Reed defends own health care coverage

Buffalo, N.Y. - Congressman Tom Reed is defending himself over a Buffalo News report that says Reed is accepting free health care coverage for himself and his staff, even though he gave a fiery speech to Congress about how members should not get special treatment from the federal government.

A spokesman for Reed responded that the Congressman sees no contradiction in his speaking out against special treatment while continuing to accept special treatment-- as long as it's legal.

Several of Reed's Republican colleagues from Upstate N.Y. get health care coverage through their spouses.
