Horace arrested for violating parole

Rochester, N.Y. -- John Horace, the man convicted of raping a comatose woman who became pregnant at a Brighton nursing home in the 1990s, was arrested Tuesday for violating parole.

State parole officers saw Horace leave his home and drive away in a vehicle -- a violation of his parole -- Tuesday morning.

Officers then found two pornographic DVDs -- another violation -- during a search of his home.

They arrested Horace around 2 p.m. Tuesday and then took him to the Monroe County Jail.

Horace had been granted parole in March after serving 17 years in prison. State parole officers had been conducting home visits twice per month, and Horace was required to report to the state parole office twice per month.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled to take place within 15 days, and a final hearing will happen within 90 days.
