Deputy Fire Chief still in hospital after police chase

Macedon/Rochester, N.Y. - An off-duty Deputy Fire Chief who was hit in the final moments of a 20-mile police chase Friday is still in the hospital.

Martin McMillan of the Rochester Fire Department is in guarded condition at Strong Hospital.

He was driving an SUV that was hit Friday afternoon on East Main Street in the city.

Police were chasing a truck whose passengers are accused of shoplifting in Macedon.

The truck driver, Charles Domicello, 48, and his two passengers face several charges related to the chase and crash.
