Senate standoff, will they work Christmas?

Washington D.C. - It was a marathon of a night for the U.S. Senate because of a standoff -- of sorts-- over some of President Barack Obama's nominees.

Some Republicans have been delaying votes and preventing their colleagues from taking breaks overnight.

They're upset over new limitations for filibusters and changes that require a simple majority vote for nominees.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid called the move a ploy. He said he'll keep the Senate in session through Christmas if necessary.

Despite the slowdown, one of the eleven nominees being voted on was approved as an Appeals Court judge.
