Man busted with cocaine in Orleans County

Albion, N.Y. -- Police in Orleans County arrested a Niagara County man for possession of crack cocaine.

John Butler, 32, of Lockport, was arrested Friday and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, and one count of aggravated unlicensed operation.

The Orleans County Major Felony Crime Task Force teamed up with the Albion Police Department and the Orleans County Sheriffs Department in the investigation. They found Butler in a car with 43 bags of crack cocaine in a parking lot on South Main Street in Albion.

Butler was taken to Orleans County Jail without bail due to his previous criminal history. Hes set to return to Albion town court Wednesday.

The investigation is ongoing. Further charges and arrests are pending.
