Imprisoned defense lawyer back in town
Rochester, N.Y. -- Imprisoned defense lawyer Anthony Leonardo Jr. has been released to a halfway house but is still considered a federal prisoner according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
He is expected to be out of prison in a month. He will be heading back to Rochester according to federal officials.
Leonardo was involved in two armed car company robberies in Rochester. The first was the Brinks robbery where more than $7 million was taken. The second was the Armed Motor Services of America robbery in Henrietta of nearly $11 million. Both took place in the 1990s.
Leonardo is expected to be released January 23.
