Apology 40 years later elicits forgiveness

An apology, better late than never, is helping two men move forward from a crime committed 40 years ago.

Michael Goodman mugged Claude Soffel decades ago.

Recently he saw the victim's name on Facebook and took the time to write an apology message. He wrote that years ago he had been trying to impress someone, but that the attack has haunted him for years.

Claude Soffel is now a life coach, so it wasn't hard for him to find the words to respond. "Michael Goodman, clearly you are a bigger man today, so let's us now jointly put his where it belongs, behind us."

The two men have exchanged a number of messages on Facebook and hope by sharing their story they can remind us that it's never too late to seek forgivenessor to forgive.
