Deputy Fire Chief satisfactory

Rochester, N.Y. - A deputy fire chief is doing better Tuesday morning after his SUV was hit during a police chase.

Martin McMillan, 57, is now in satisfactory condition at Strong Hospital.

He was off duty when the SUV he was driving was hit by a suspect On East Main Street Friday.

McMillan suffered three broken vertebrae, a broken sternum and broken ribs. He needs a brace to stand.

He told friends he'll be back to work in two months
