Storms leave trail of deaths, flooding, power outages

U.S. - It could be another 24 hours until people in the northeast U.S. get their power back.
The power was knocked out after a deadly storm system moved through earlier this week.

Tens of thousands of homes and businesses have been without power since Sunday.

At least 27 people have died as a result of that storm.

Falling temperatures across Western New York have made the last few days especially difficult for people dealing with flooding.

We were supposed to have Christmas here and now we can't even get all the people here to our house, said one area resident.

Places like the town of Clarence Center are seeing their floodwaters turn into ice.
