It's a Wonderful new collection

Seneca Falls, N.Y. -- Seneca Falls holds its annual "It's a Wonderful Life" celebration this weekend, marking the similarities with the Town of Bedford Falls.

This year, Santa came a bit early bearing a huge gift for the museum: thousands of artifacts from a Chicago area collector.

The Its a Wonderful Falls Museum first opened its doors in 2010. And the museums collection is about to grow by more than 4 thousand items collected over the years by Rich Goodson.

"All kinds of stuff, just 20 years of amassing what I consider to be the best collection in private hands out there," Goodson said.

Included in the collection: contracts, scripts and director notes from Frank Capra.

"We always want to be what we are right now, a place where we can be a year round reminder of the link between Bedford Falls and Seneca Falls and also just the spirit of this movie, Fran Caracciiol, Museum Owner said.

Goodson, who has visited Seneca Falls, says that's just what he had in mind.

"What's the point of having something if you can't share it? It doesn't do anyone any good in a storage facility or locked up. It needs to be shared," Caracciiol said.

Just this month the museum received a provisional charter from New York, allowing it to become a not for profit corporation.

The "It's a Wonderful Life" celebration begins Friday in Seneca Falls.
