Potential I-Square business moves

by Kelsie Smith

Irondequoit, N.Y. - As progress continues at Irondequoit's new town center, I-Square, at least one established business has moved.

Taci's Irondequoit Hots moved to East Ridge Road last month after being in the same location since the mid 1990s.

Owner Diana Dimovaski planned to move into the I-Square building but couldn't afford the rent that was offered to her. "He gave me lots of options but we couldn't afford to go into the new building," said Dimovaski.

According to Dimovaski the best offer I-Square owner, Mike Nolan, gave her doubled her rent.

In 2011, in an interview with 13WHAM News, Nolan said rent for current businesses will remain the same for the first two years after move in.

Dimovaski said that was also her understanding.

"I was surprised," said Dimovaski. "I understand it costs a lot of money for a new project like that, he gave me options like I said, but those options I couldn't take."

Dimovaski hopes her loyal customers understand and follow her as she restarts an established business in a new location. She also hopes for the best for I-Square.

"I will support them and I'm hoping that they will still support us," said Dimovaski.

When we reached out to I-Square owner, Mike Nolan, he said no comment. Stating he couldn't discuss his clients' lease agreements.
