Accident involving police car in Macedon

Macedon, N.Y. A Macedon Police Department vehicle was involved in a three car accident on Route 31 around 7 p.m. Friday.

According to Wayne County Sheriffs, Sgt. Thomas Coomans police car hit a car being driven by Christopher Button, 21, of Macedon. Buttons car was then pushed into the eastbound lane, where it was hit by another car driven by Rachel Skeldon, 23, of Farmington.

Button and his passenger, Justin Herrmann, 22, were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester for minor injuries.

Sgt. Cooman was taken to F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, police said.

The accident is under investigation by the Wayne County Sheriffs Office Accident Reconstruction Team.
