Frigid weather returns to Northeast

Rochester, N.Y. -- Bitter weather returned to the Northeast U.S. Wednesday. While temperatures are not as cold as they were a few weeks ago, they are expected to stay longer.

Those plunging temperatures could cause problems for your morning commute, as salt does not work as well in the bitter cold.

There were a few snow flurries locally Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, but those totals are far less compared to those in other parts of the country.

The storm is impacting nearly 80 million people, with about 3,000 flights being cancelled, mostly in and out of Northeast hubs.
