No deal for Dome Arena

Henrietta, N.Y. - Despite an agreement to sell the Dome Arena to the Rochester RazorSharks, the Monroe County Fair and Recreation Association is putting it back on the market.

The Rochester Razorsharks had been in talks with the fair association to buy the Dome, but fair association member Robert Colby says there had simply been too many delays.

"The fair association needs to move forward," Colby said.

Colby says if no one buys the Dome soon, the association will likely not be able give Monroe County the money it needs to build permanent structures at Northampton Park this year.

The fair moved from the Dome to Northampton Park in Ogden last year.

"The fair will go on either way," Colby said.

Colby says there may be some potential buyers waiting in the wings.

"There are buyers who expressed interest in the property if the deal did not go through," Colby said.

He even left open the possibility of the RazorSharks submitting another bid.

The owner of the RazorSharks has not returned our calls.
