Report: Mayor Warren and uncle stopped for speeding

Albany, N.Y. -- Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren and her security director and uncle Reggie Hill were pulled over for speeding on their way to Gov. Andrew Cuomo's State of the State address last Wednesday, according to the Albany Times Union.

The report said a state trooper stopped the mayors 2007 Chevrolet Suburban on the New York State Thruway in Fulton County because it was going 97 mph.

They were not going 97, Christine Christopher, Warrens spokeswoman, told the Times Union. (Hill) thought he was exceeding 80, but absolutely not 90.

Hill reportedly told Christopher he didnt get a ticket because it is standard safety protocol to travel faster than the average speed on the Thruway.

The Times Union report said there is no speed exception made for security details -- only for law enforcement officers in designated vehicles responding to emergencies.
