Judge upholds NY gun law with one exception

Washington - A federal judge is upholding most of the SAFE Act (New York's gun law) except for one provision.

The judge rejected the ban on magazines that held more than seven rounds saying it was arbitrary.

Other than that, he backed the law, rejecting arguments that bans on large-capacity magazines and the sale of some semi-automatic rifles violate second amendment rights.

There is no word on when the decision could be appealed.
