Push to restore jobless benefits

Washington -- The White House is pushing Congress to restore jobless benefits as its first act of 2014.

The Obama administration is backing a bill that would temporarily extend those benefits for three months.

White House analysts say restoring those benefits would help them and would help create about 200,000 jobs.
