Young rapper remembered by family and friends

Rochester, N.Y. -- Terrance Beatty, 23, dreamed of becoming a rap star.

His sister said he was on his way to the top when he was killed.

The young man was shot to death outside a recording studio on Lois Street in Rochester, where he made music as rapper Wicked Diabolical.

The family said the shooting was unprovoked and that Terrance was trying to break up a fight. Another man who was shot survived his injuries.

On Friday, Rochester Police arrested 17 year old Anthony Ortiz in the murder. Ortiz had just been released from jail after serving time for another crime.

Friday night Terrance Beattys family, including his mother, Crystal Lewis, held hands and prayed inside the recording studio. They gathered to remember Terrance.

Bishop John Parker said the violence has to end. He told the group: When do we say enough is enough, and hold our public officials to a higher standard?

After praying, the group moved the vigil outside. They held candles in the bitter cold and released red balloons to remember Terrance.

His sisters told us his music and legacy will live on.
