Survey: digital eye strain shows in 70% of adults

Alexandria, Va. - All that time we spend in front of our computers, tablets, and mobile devices is hurting our eyes.

Its called digital eye strain.

A new survey, conducted by the Vision Council, a trade group for vision care products and services, shows roughly 70 percent of American adults have experienced the syndrome.

Experts say an increasing number of children are also showing symptoms, including dry, irritated eyes, blurred vision.

Some experts say the blue light emitted by electronic screens can contribute to vision loss, but say more research is needed.
