Rowley Street investigation continues

Rochester, N.Y. -  Police remain on the scene of 27 Rowley St., where a body was found Wednesday.

The owner of the home where Matthew Straton was found, William Lewek, 62, has been charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, and tampering with physical evidence. He will be arraigned at Rochester City Court Friday.

His Park Avenue neighborhood home is steps away from a photo of a missing man, Matthew Straton.

The family members of Matthew Straton say Rochester police have told them that the body found buried in the backyard of the home is his.

Jeremy Straton, Matthew Stratons brother, said that police notified his family about the identity of the remains.

The Monroe County Medical Examiner has identified the remains as those of Matthew Straton.

Its definitely heartbreaking, and its still kind of a shock. I dont know how to react to it. I wanted it to end, but not like this, Jeremy Straton said.

Jeremy Straton said that his family has a sense of closure, but are not taking solace.

I wanted him to come home, Jeremy Straton said.

Police officers continue to work the scene, but they have said nothing about the cause of death or if other remains have been found on the property.
