Students go bald for bucks

Rochester, N.Y. The heads of a few student and staff at the World Inquiry School are a little bit lighter.

Four teachers and four students shaved their heads in front of the school Wednesday.

Its all part of Bald for Bucks, an event that raised money for research at the Wilmot Cancer Center, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, and supports the Teens Living with Cancer program.

Its more than a fundraising event for the students, its something personal.

We lost a sixth grade student in November to cancer, said Kristen Burgmaster, a teacher. I have kids that have brought their piggy banks and everyone has just been so generous.

I know that cancers a very serious thing, says Harrison Davis, a sixth grader. We want to make sure that people know that I want to help support cancer.

At the end of the day, students and staff were able to raise more than $7,000.
