Local murder suspect arrested near Chicago

Irondequoit, N.Y. Irondequoit police say they have received information that a suspect in a local murder case is in the Chicago area.

Investigators traveled there Monday and made an arrest.

42-year-old Joanne Armour-Christopher is being held on a fugitive warrant and will be charged with second degree murder in the death of 28-year-old LaCandice Miles.

Irondequoit police investigators say Armour-Christopher and Miles were acquaintances.

According to police, on December 20officers received a 911 call from a maintenance worker at the apartment complex reporting he heard four children in an apartment screaming and crying.

Miles, the mother of all four children, was found dead inside the apartment. The children were not hurt.

Police said they received several tips leading them to other cities before Armour-Christopher was found in Cook County outside of Chicago.

Armour-Christopher will be brought back to Rochester to face the murder charges.

Police tell us that could happened as early as Friday or early next week.

Right now, police wont say what led to the killing or how it happened.
