Three charged with arson to collect insurance

Canandaigua, N.Y. - The owners of a house that burned, along with one other suspect, allegedly committed arson to get money from the insurance company.

Hayward-Crawford and Crawford are the owners of the residence.

Shallamar L. Hayward-Crawford, 29, of Canandaigua was charged with felony arson in the third degree, and was sent to the Ontario County Jail.

Samuel F. Crawford, 33, of Canandaigua was charged with felony arson in the third degree and sent to the Ontario County Jail without bail.

William Bradley Jr., 21, of Canandaigua was also charged with felony arson and sent to the Ontario County Jail.

All three are accused of conspiring and intentionally setting fire to a single family house at 41 Saltonstall Street.

A fireman had to be treated for smoke inhalation.

The house was a total loss and two adjacent homes were damaged.

Further charges are pending.
