Bitter temperatures return

Rochester, N.Y. -- After a brief reprieve, cold winter temperatures will be moving back in to our area Monday.

Temperatures are expected to rapidly drop below freezing in the morning, which could cause slick spots to develop on roads.

Local homeless shelters will be under a "Code Blue" beginning later in the evening. They will have extra beds and staff on hand to help those without shelter to avoid hypothermia.

Meanwhile, wind chill warnings are in affect from Montana to Alabama, and many schools in the Midwest are closed due to record-low temperatures.

In some places, it will feel like temperatures are 20 degrees below zero.
