Two jailed for burglary of Avoca Country Market

Avoca, N.Y. Steuben County Sheriffs Deputies arrested two men late Thursday night after investigating a burglary at Avoca Country Market.

In that investigation, they found the cash register in the market had been broken into and burglarized, and other items were missing as well.

They found two suspects and items which had been stolen from the market in a home on Steuben Street.

Thursday night Jan. 16, John E. Eplin, 17, of Steuben Street was charged with felony burglary.

Brandon J. Congdon, 22, of Forty Dollar Road in Campbell was charged with misdemeanor conspiracy, for helping plan and execute the burglary.

Eplin and Congdon were arraigned and sent to Steuben Co. Jail.

Further charges are pending as the investigation continues.
