House fire on Clifton Street

Rochester, N.Y. -- The Rochester Fire Department is investigating the cause of a house fire on Clifton Street Monday.

It started just after 2 p.m. and was under control in about 45 minutes.

The Red Cross is assisting three adults with housing. The two-story home has damage to both floors and the attic.

Firefighters said a dog did not escape the fire. They also say cold weather was an issue in putting out the fire, as the first hydrant they tried was frozen.
