Visitor restrictions at RGH to prevent spread of flu

Rochester, N.Y.- With the number of flu cases increasing in the Rochester area, Rochester General Hospital is taking precautionary steps to protect the health of its patients, staff and visitors.

Hospital leaders said effective noon Tuesday, there will be hospital-wide visiting restrictions which include:

-A maximum of two visitors per patient on all units.

-All visitors must be at least 14 years old.

-And, a strong recommendation that anyone with symptoms of illness NOT visit patients in the hospital.

The restrictions will remain in place until further notice.
