Arrest made in Pittsford incident

Pittsford, N.Y. -- Several charges are pending against an Ogden man after an incident in Pittsford Wednesday.

Monroe County sheriffs deputies said Vincenzo Zagari, 22, crashed a stolen car into another vehicle in the Pittsford Plaza parking lot. They say he then tried to carjack a female driver at gunpoint.

Zagari then fled, running across Monroe Avenue. The Monroe County Sheriffs Office said Zagari showed a female deputy his gun, and thats when she fired her weapon.

Zagari was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries. He is listed in guarded condition.

Multiple charges, including larceny, possession of a stolen vehicle, attempted aggravated assault against a police office, resisting arrest and menacing, are pending.

The Monroe County Sheriffs Office said it previously arrested Zagari in connection to the shooting of Angel Figueroa in Wheatland last June. He is currently on probation for that crime.

Officials are investigating Zagaris connection to other crimes in the area.
