Mayor's uncle stopped twice by state police

Rochester, N.Y. Reggie Hill, Uncle and Director of Executive Services for Mayor Lovely Warren, has admitted in a statement to being stopped twice by New York State Police last week on the way to the State of the State address.

Hill, a former New York State Trooper and former security detail for three previous governors, said that he became accustomed to certain practices.

In the statement, Hill takes full responsibility for the incident, and calls it a lack of judgment.

According to the memo, following a meeting with the Deputy Mayor, Hill will get a one week suspension without pay and a $50 fine.

Ethics Investigation

The Citys Board of Ethics commission is investigating the hiring of Hill.

"Our desire is to put the question through a full review and put it to rest one way or the other, Rochester City Council President Loretta Scott said.

Scott said City Councilmembers had received a tremendous amount of calls about Warren's detail.

Scott said the council agreed that they had to look at a possibility of inconsistency of the city's ethics code.

The ethics board was put together more than a year ago with the help of Mayor Warren, who was then City Council president.

Mayor Warren told 13WHAM News she welcomes the investigation.
