Police and K-9s still searching Rowley yard

Rochester, N.Y. A patch of the Rowley Street yard, roughly 10 feet from where the body of Matthew Straton was found Thursday, is the focus of Fridays search.

According to 13WHAM crews who have been monitoring the scene, officers and investigators from Rochester Police were inside the house on Rowley Street before daylight. When the sun came up, the focus switched to the backyard.

First an RG&E crew arrived, and then two K-9 dogs from the N.Y. State Police and three handler troopers arrived.

The troopers drilled some holes in the yard, and one dog searched the yard while another searched the home.

The Rochester Police Department began digging with shovels where the K-9 dog had shown interest.

As of 1 p.m. Friday, Rochester Police have not released any officials statements on the investigation.
