Students honored in white coat ceremony

Pittsford, N.Y. -- Dozens of local college students marked a major step in their journeys to becoming pharmacists this weekend.

Eighty-two students at St. John Fisher College received their white coats -- symbols of the heavy responsibility of being a medical professional.

First-year students take part in the rite of passage which marks the completion of their first semester of studies.

"It means a lot to me, it means a lot to my family" said pharmacy student Kaitlynn Gwitt. "Im very excited about moving forward with my career and having a really good future."
