RCSD statement about bitter cold Tuesday

Rochester, N.Y. - With bitterly cold temperatures in the single digits forecast for Tuesday, the Rochester City School District said it may close schools.

The District released the following statement Monday afternoon:

The District is monitoring today's weather and the forecast for Tuesday closely. Superintendent Vargas is meeting with members of his team and will make a decision sometime today or early tomorrow morning on whether schools need to be closed Tuesday in the interest of student safety. If he decides to close schools, we will notify staff and families as soon as the decision is made through the news media, the District website and internal communications.
