Police: Suspect breaks into home twice

Canandaigua, N.Y. -- A Canandaigua man was arrested for burglary after police said he broke into a home, and was confronted by the homeowner.

Joshua Murtha, 28, is charged with two counts of second-degree burglary, a felony.

Canandaigua police said Murtha broke into a home on Antis Street Tuesday afternoon. He was then confronted with the resident, and fought with the homeowner until police arrived.

Following an investigation, police said Murtha had also broke into the same home a week before. He's accused of stealing money and/or drugs on both occasions.

He was arraigned in City Court and remanded to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash $20,000 bond.
